I just remembered these white moccasins I used to wear. They had little colorful rhinestones encrusted on the top. I wore them well past the time the rhinestones had fallen out and all that was left were the metal brackets. My mom finally threw them out one day. I thought about this as I looked down at the shoes I am currently wearing and saw how shitty they were starting to look. I guess some things never change.

makes sense
I had a dream that Ira was drowning and George Harrison saved his life.
He was explaining to me that as long as you get a cat out of the water within 9 minutes of submersion, it'll be fine.

idea
i need a luchador mask so i can go bike riding without my face freezing off on windy nights. i thought about a ski mask, initially, but that would just look weird.
cat adventure video
i bought a "cat adventure video" for ira and elliott to entertain themselves with when i'm not home. it's 3 hours of different footage of field mice, birds and bugs. the first time i put it on for them, it was the middle of the day and they didn't seem to care. then i noticed that the recommendation on the back cover of the box was to play it at night when the room is completely dark, and ira was completely ENTHRALLED with it. this has to be the best dollar i've ever spent.

thoughts
every time i see an old man, i wonder what he looked like in his prime. i'm primarily attracted to men who dress well, and men back then dressed well.
i think that this girl whose blog i used to follow may have died, or something. she hasn't written anything since december of 2010 and she was a daily poster. i really enjoyed her misanthropic commentaries.
also, this song is stuck in my head:

breakfast at tiffany's
i wanted to like it. really, i did. it's widely regarded as a classic, a masterpiece, all that. about 10 minutes in, i knew i could never like it. audrey hepburn is annoying, number one. no matter how many givenchy outfits she flounced around in, i couldn't get past her attitude. i don't understand why so many women like that movie. holly golightly is nothing more than a scheming, gold digging woman who refuses to learn how to support herself. and she said "darling" far too many times, the way people are wont to do when they think themselves high class. furthermore, any woman who justifies not buying furniture or naming a cat by saying that no apartment has calmed her as much as the storefront of a jewelry store is fucking nuts.
that movie BELONGS in the five dollar bin at walmart.
