Open letter to Natalie Portman

Well, Natalie, I guess reading "Eating Animals" didn't affect you as much as you claimed if you so flippantly changed back to vegetarianism, ostensibly for your baby's health. Way to make the vegan lifestyle seem more like a pretentious fad diet than a viable and healthy way to live. Never mind that other mothers have successfully stayed vegan through pregnancy. I guess what you're saying is that eating eggs and milk is okay if being vegan is inconvenient. Oh, and that bit about not being able to eating cookies or cakes while vegan, let's hash this out, shall we? You live in NYC, you're rich, and there are an abundance of vegan bakeries at your disposal. Like, oh I don't know, that place Babycakes, whose cookbook you WROTE THE FOREWORD FOR? I thought I couldn't like you less after seeing your contemptibly pitiful acting job in Garden State or your failure to credit the backup dancer responsible for making your "transformation" to a pro ballerina in a year seem credible, but I was wrong.
